Welcome to the Special Region of Yogyakarta (or Jogja, Yogya, Jogjakarta, Jogjakarta and often abbreviated DIY) is a province of Indonesia which is located in the southern part of Java Island and bordering Central Java province in the north. Geographically, Yogyakarta is located in Central part of Java island. The area was hit by the earthquake on May 27, 2006 which resulted in 1.2 million people homeless.

Kalasan or Tara Temple was built around the late 8th century AD or early 9th century AD over an ancient temple. An ancient inscription made in the year 778 AD by order of Raka i Panangkaran and was found not far from the temple and gave an explanation that the temple was built to honor the female Bodhisattva, Tara. Initially, only one temple on the temple site Kalasan, but once dug deeper we get more support buildings around the temple. This temple has a height of 6 meters and 52 stupas
This inscription also states Bahwan this temple was built by two kings together, the king of the House of dynasty and the king of the Mataram Hindu anonymous in Wangsa dynasty era.
The temple is located approximately 2 km west of Prambanan, which is on the side of the road between Yogyakarta and Solo is categorized as a Buddhist temple. Although not known what was used as a symbol of god as a statue in the main hall of the temple, but this sculpture has more than 6 feet tall and made of bronze.
In addition to Kalasan temples and buildings - and other supporting buildings there are also three small temple outside the main temple building, shaped stupa.
