Lake Sentani The Biggest Lake in Papua Indonesia

Lake Sentani is located under the slopes of the Mountains Nature Reserve Cycloops which has an area of about 245,000 hectares and extends between Jayapura Jayapura regency, Papua. Lake Sentani, which has an area of about 9360 hectares and located at an altitude of + 75 meters above sea level is one of the largest lake in Papua and Indonesia. Lake Sentani developed for freshwater fish farming.

It is used to increase local community nutrition and one source of local revenue. With the potential large-scale water discharge, the Lake Sentani to clear land for cultivation of various species of freshwater fish, which will be able to meet market demand in Papua and even out of Papua.
